
Kenya, June 4 -- My son, Brian, is one of the brightest children I've ever known. From a young age, he could recite songs, tell stories, and solve simple puzzles faster than his peers. Everyone used to say he was destined for greatness. But somewhere along the way, everything changed.
When he reached Class Four, his performance dropped suddenly. At first, I thought it was just a phase. Children go through changes, right? But as the months passed, his grades continued to fall. His teachers called me in more than once to express concern.
He would stare blankly during lessons, forget even the simplest instructions, and sometimes complain of constant headaches. At home, he became quiet and withdrawn. He had no energy. No motivation. I spent so many nights sitting beside his bed, praying silently as he slept. My husband blamed me. My relatives whispered about curses or laziness.
