Kenya, Sept. 6 -- Rejection was my shadow throughout my life. For me, school was a place of mockery rather than education, where I was constantly reminded that I was the "ugliest" female in the class. I was called "the ugliest girl in school" and subjected to taunts and insults during my time in high school. My classmates made fun of me by making me the target of their nasty comments. "Even if she were the last woman alive, I wouldn't look at her twice," boys would whisper.I brought those scarves to school in the hopes that things would improve. However, nothing did. It grew worse, if anything. Everyone was finding partners, creating lifelong friendships, and forming cliques at university. In contrast, I ate in the cafeteria by myself for years. I felt as if I had been rejected by life.

Panic struck while I was in my fourth year.I came to the realization that I would soon graduate and enter the real world; what would have happened to me if I had been made fun of and ignored in school?Would a job ever come my way?Would I ever be taken seriously by anyone? To read more, click here.
