
Kenya, July 12 -- Items in our complex have been going missing for months. Everything was disappearing like magic, including stolen petrol cylinders, misplaced phones, and even my wife's purse, which she had set next to her window one evening. I initially blamed the neighbours. Then I had suspicions about the employees. However, I wasn't comfortable with something. Do you have a gut instinct? "This thief is close, very close," goes the little murmur.My mother remarked to me one evening, "Mwana wa mwendwa, hio ni mtu wa damu." The person who is robbing you eats at your home. I dismissed it. I was unwilling to accept it. Not me. Not my own blood. But in the back of my mind, her words kept ringing like a bell. I had learnt about him from a friend whose stolen cows were discovered in the identical spot in a forest where the robber had concealed them. He informed me that Dr. Bokko is not a joker.
