Kenya, May 27 -- A boda boda rider named Ian Githinji has survived a terrible accident where a Brookside Milk tanker ran over him on the Thika Superhighway, according to his family.

The accident, which many saw in a viral video, happened near the Kamakis bypass, a very busy area known for heavy traffic.

Ian is a well-known rider in his community, and he was missing for two days before his family recognised him in the video because of his unique jacket.

He is now being treated at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) for multiple broken bones in his arms and legs.

Doctors are checking for any possible pelvic injuries, but they say Ian is in stable condition and is responding well to treatment.

This shocking accident, which many thought would be deadly, has raised concerns about road safety in Kenya.

Local people and road users have pointed out that careless driving and a lack of safety measures are serious problems, especially for boda boda riders.

A local rider who knows Ian said, "This is a wake-up call. Too many lives are lost on our roads because of carelessness."

The video of the crash has led to calls for stronger traffic rules and accountability for drivers.

Ian's family is thankful for his survival and is asking everyone to pray for his complete recovery as investigations continue.
