Kenya, May 15 -- Rigathi Gachagua has launched a new political party called the Democracy for Citizens Party. He announced, "We finally have a political party! Our party slogan is Sikiza Wakenya, which means 'Listen to Kenyans'. Kenyans can also say Sikiza Ground."
Gachagua mentioned that many people want to join the party and run for different positions. He made it clear that there will be no direct nominations for anyone in the party.
There was also a dramatic incident during the party's launch. People believed to be goons attacked Gachagua at the Lavington event. Security had to fire shots into the air to calm the situation.
The launch turned chaotic when these suspected goons disrupted the event, causing panic.
Reports say that Gachagua had a very close call and was nearly shot during the chaos. This happened after he had left the venue, and police had to intervene to disperse the crowd.
Amid all this, people heard the goons shouting "TUTAKUUWA!" which means "We will kill you!" as they attacked.
