
Kenya, July 20 -- Allow me to explain how life may take you by surprise. This man was in our neighbourhood. He had a keen mind. He always walked like he owned the road and had a fancy phone, clean clothing, and nice perfume. From the moment I laid eyes on him, I liked him. When I knew he was around, I would even straighten my hair. However, the man never gave me a serious glance.We had several conversations. Just pleasant conversations. He seemed to like me as well, but he kept it to himself. Then I grew weary of acting one day. I questioned him about why he never approached. "I can't marry a girl from the ghetto," he added, staring me in the eye. That sentence was painful. On the inside, I felt broken, but on the surface, I grinned. Therefore, I don't deserve love just because I live in a basic place. I returned home and started crying. I stayed away from him for days. I felt angry and ashamed. To read more click here.
