Kenya, May 31 -- Elon Musk has finished his job as a special government employee, which was about finding ways to save money in the government.
At an event at the White House, President Donald Trump gave Musk a special 'key' to the White House, showing their good friendship.
Even though he is no longer officially working in the government, Musk will keep helping with efforts to make the government more efficient.
People praised Musk's work for helping to save money and bringing new ideas to how the government works. He is stepping back from his direct work with the DOGE mission but will continue as an advisor.
The press conference for Musk's departure from the Trump administration was not a usual goodbye.
It started with a surprising announcement from Trump.
Sitting next to @elonmusk in the Oval Office, Trump began by praising Musk for his work with DOGE before turning to the cameras from CNBC.
"It's an honour to be with Elon, who's my friend, and he's done a fantastic job. He didn't need this," Trump said.
"And sometimes, the government can be a bit difficult," he added.
Then, in his usual style, Trump had something interesting for the media.
"I think what I'll do, if you don't mind. Some numbers have just come out which are very impressive, and I thought I'd play a tape of someone I respect a lot-Joe Kernen and Rick Santelli."
"This just came out, so we'll play that for a moment."
The clip highlighted that personal income is rising and the trade deficit has been cut in half.
Trump made sure every camera in the room focused on this news.
