Kenya, July 8 -- Tanzanian Afrobeat star Bushoke found himself at the centre of a social media storm following a heated exchange during a recent interview on Wasafi FM's Lavi Davi show, hosted by Diva The Bawse.

A viral video clip, shared widely on social media, captured the moment when Bushoke's interview was abruptly cut short after he responded to questions with what some described as "arrogance and disrespect".

The incident has sparked debate about whether the artist missed an opportunity to discuss his music, with some fans suggesting he would have thrived on a platform like The Switch instead of clashing on a love-focused programme.

The Lavi Davi interview, aired on July 7, 2025, was intended to explore Bushoke's personal and professional journey, including his hit tracks like "Machozi" featuring Stamina Shorwebwenzi and "Usiende" with Juliana Kanyomozi.

However, tensions flared when Diva pressed Bushoke on personal matters, prompting defensive responses that led her to play music and end the segment prematurely.

Fans lamented, "Sijamuona Bushoke akifanya interview siku nyingi, but The Switch would've been better to learn about his music, not fighting with Diva on Lavi Davi."

Another one noted that Bushoke's "ujeuri na kiburi" (arrogance and pride) derailed the conversation, costing him a chance to connect with fans.

Bushoke, known for blending traditional Tanzanian rhythms with modern Afrobeat, has built a loyal following through emotive tracks like "Nipe Nafasi" and "Mapenzi".

His collaboration "Machozi" with Stamina Shorwebwenzi, praised for its lyrical depth, remains a fan favourite.

Fans expressed disappointment that the Lavi Davi interview, known for its focus on romance and lifestyle, didn't highlight Bushoke's musical achievements.

Many suggested The Switch, a Tanzanian show focused on in-depth artist profiles, would have been a better fit to discuss his creative process and Afrobeat influence.

The controversy has reignited discussions about interview formats and artist preparedness. While some defend Bushoke, arguing Diva's questions were too personal, others believe his demeanour alienated viewers.
