Kenya, May 13 -- Kenyan content creator and radio presenter Azziad Nasenya has responded to rumours about her owing money. She has asked the public to think carefully about the rumours being discussed online.
In a mysterious message posted on her social media, Nasenya said, "Anything you hear, anything you see, believe it," which made people curious about her view on the ongoing situation.
These allegations started in January 2025 when blogger Edgar Obare and TikToker Mary Musyoka claimed that Nasenya borrowed a lot of money-up to KSh 400,000 and KSh 300,000-and did not pay it back.
Recently, posts on X mentioned an old video where Nasenya allegedly said she owed KSh 1.8 million and was asking for another KSh 85,000 loan while in Nigeria.
Another post shared a leaked audio clip where she also seemed to be asking for money, which added to the discussion.
At 24 years old, Nasenya has been looked at closely because of her expensive lifestyle. Critics say she pays for it with money she hasn't returned.
During a radio show on Sound City in March, she denied borrowing money to support her lifestyle. She said, "I do not borrow to fund my lifestyle," and explained that she is talking directly to the people involved about these claims.
Nasenya said that her travels are sponsored by a travel agency and help from her mother, denying accusations of being careless with money.
Many of her supporters, including colleagues from Sound City, have stood by her, praising her hard work and strength during these accusations.
Fans have also asked others to be kind, reminding everyone that financial troubles can happen to anyone.
Yet, some people on social media continue to doubt her honesty, making jokes about her money troubles and linking them to other unrelated things, like a swollen lip from medicine.
Nasenya's recent statement seems to urge people to tell the difference between fact and rumour, but she did not directly address the new video and audio leaks.
