Kenya, March 24 -- Homicide detectives have taken over investigations into the rape and murder of 29-year-old Naomi Wangare Mwangi, whose body was found on February 18 in Embakasi, Nairobi.

Officers visited the scene on Sunday to gather more evidence and piece together her final movements.

They have questioned a woman who was last seen with Naomi and believes she may have played a role in setting her up.

Naomi's family said she left home after receiving a phone call but never returned.

Her body was later discovered with signs of strangulation and sexual assault.

An autopsy confirmed she was raped and murdered.

Detectives have visited an entertainment joint linked to the case and are pursuing two men suspected of being involved.

The search for those responsible is ongoing.
