Kenya, March 4 -- A burial for the late Malava MP Malulu Injendi took an unexpected turn today when Kakamega Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda almost fell down right in front of President William Ruto.

People who were at the funeral, which took place at Injendi's home in Lugusi, said that Muhanda looked like she had been drinking, causing whispers among the mourners and important guests.

The incident happened while everyone was there to say their goodbyes to the late politician. President Ruto was among the notable guests.

Muhanda, known for being outspoken in Kakamega politics, almost lost her balance while moving through the crowd, just managing to stay upright in front of the President and other leaders.

This moment quickly became a topic of discussion, taking attention away from the sadness of the day.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as helpers rushed to support the Woman Representative, while some mourners reacted with shock and disapproval.

"She was swaying before it happened. It's shameful for a day like this," said one attendee who did not want their name mentioned.

The funeral was carefully organized by Injendi's family to prevent any political showmanship, allowing only President Ruto, the church, and the family to speak.

Even though the focus was meant to be on honouring Injendi's life, Muhanda's stumble became the main topic, with people reacting in different ways, from sympathy to criticism.

President Ruto, who had previously offered to provide air transportation for Injendi's body, remained calm during the incident and continued with his speech.
