Kenya, July 29 -- You see, I didn't start off feeling heartbroken. I used to be that girl who believed in love, loyalty, and waiting for the right man. Then I met Brian, who made me doubt my own worth and sanity and almost put me in a really bad situation. Brian came into my life with a Bible in one hand and sweet lies in the other. We met at church during a youth gathering. He was the one leading the singing, so I thought, "This must be a good man from God."

I trusted him, shared my body with him, and dreamed of a future together. I even gave him my virginity, thinking he was "the one" for me. When he had nothing, I tried to be everything for him. I sent him money for rent through M-Pesa, surprised him with gifts, and even took motorcycle taxis in the rain just to cook for him in his small, dirty room.
