Kenya, April 18 -- Alex Mugo Wachira and Simon Chomba Mbogo, aka 'Kirinyaga Queens', the two Kasarani men who posed as female masseuses before robbing their victims, as per DCI, were so good in their craft that they made believable TikTok videos (Brown the model) that pulled many victims.
Two men, Alex Mugo Wachira and Simon Chomba Mbogo, alias the "Kirinyaga Queens", were arrested by Kasarani detectives for allegedly posing as female masseuses to rob unsuspecting clients, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reported.
The duo's convincing TikTok videos, posted on social media, lured victims with promises of professional massage services.
Operating along Lumumba Drive, Wachira and Mbogo advertised their services online, using feminine personas and polished appearances to deceive clients.
In one reported case, a victim was lured to their supposed spa, where the suspects brandished knives, forced him to transfer KSh 280,000 via mobile money, and stole his valuables before ejecting him.
The DCI stated that the pair's TikTok videos, featuring feminine attire, makeup, and dance moves, were so believable that they attracted numerous victims.
Mbogo, known as the "Kenyan Bobrisky," and Wachira often flaunted lavish lifestyles, displaying cash, flashy outfits, and a white car in their posts, which shocked followers when their arrests were announced.
Following a forensic investigation, detectives traced the suspects to the Kamiti Prison area, where they were apprehended while reportedly enjoying their illicit gains.
The DCI is urging other victims to come forward to strengthen the case against the duo, who are set to face charges.
