
Kenya, March 10 -- Twelve people were arrested near the State House in Nairobi on Monday evening by officers from the Recce Squad.
According to security sources, the officers were warned about a potential threat and quickly moved in to stop the suspects.
Witnesses described a tense situation as heavily armed officers confronted the group, leading to a standoff before they made the arrests.
While it is not clear exactly what happened, some eyewitnesses said that the suspects were on a motorcycle and had stolen a phone from a pedestrian before the officers caught them.
Other witnesses mentioned that the group was being watched by security before they were stopped near the important government site.
Officials have not yet shared details about who the arrested people are or why they were detained.
Security teams have assured the public that there is no immediate danger and that safety measures are in place around important locations.
