Kenya, March 9 -- A wave of displeasure rumbled through Java Blue Lounge in Embu on Saturday as customers broke into unexpected chants of "Ruto Must Go," signalling rising frustration with President William Ruto's regime.

The famous eatery, normally a hub for informal dining, drinking, and discussion, became an unforeseen podium for political countenance over the weekend.

Witnesses reported that the chants erupted mid-afternoon, with a group of customers voicing their dissatisfaction in unison.

The demonstration, though brief, caught the attention of fellow diners and staff, briefly shifting the ambience from relaxed to charged.

No violence or property damage was reported, but chanting and dancing caused uproar as political temperatures increased.

The incident reflects a rising tide of public sentiment against the President, whose policies have faced scrutiny in recent months.

The outburst at Java Blue Lounge remains a constant move after several clubs did the same. The move aligns with broader murmurs of discontent heard across various parts of the country.

Management at Java Blue Lounge declined to comment on the episode, stating only that the establishment remains a neutral space for all patrons.

The chants in Embu add to a series of notable public reactions this weekend, including the chaos at Gusii Stadium in Kisii and the contrasting jubilation at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's rally in Kitengela.
