India, May 3 -- Royal Enfield, the Chennai-based bikemaker, has reported a 12 per cent increase in total sales at 81,870 units in April 2024. It sold 73,136 motorcycles in the year-ago period (April 2023). On the exports front, the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) saw sales rise to 6,832 units last month from 4,255 units in the corresponding period of the last financial year. Its domestic market wholesales in April 2024 stood at 75,038 units, an increase of 9 per cent year-on-year (68,881 units: April 2023). In terms of year-to-date (YTD) sales, Royal Enfield sold a total of 2,79,560 motorcycles during the January-April 2024 period, representing a year-on-year growth of 7 per cent.
