India, April 9 -- BMW Group India sold 3,680 vehicles, including BMW and MINI models, in the first quarter of the 2024 calendar year, up 51 per cent from the same quarter last year. The increase in demand was mostly driven by a greater need for Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs), Luxury Class sedans, and Electric Vehicles (EVs). The BMW brand sold a total of 3,510 units, while MINI contributed 170 cars to the overall sales amount. Sales were strong for BMW's X7, X3, X1, and 3 Series, all highly sought-after cars. With 211 electric cars delivered in the first quarter of 2024, BMW Group India continued to dominate the premium electric car market.
