Belconnen, ACT, May 29 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:
ACT Policing hascharged two men overnight following drink driving and speeding offences yesterday.
About 12.00pm yesterday (Wednesday, 28 May 2025) Road Policing stopped a 24-year-old man driving a black Honda Accord on William Hovell drive after he was captured driving almost twice the posted speed limit.
The 24-year-old was detected travelling at 171km/h in a signposted 90km/h zone.
Later that night about 9.45pm police were conducting roadside alcohol and drug testing on Belconnen Way, Aranda when they spotted a Holden Cruze with Queensland numberplates being driven across a nearby nature strip, to avoid the police.
