BRISBANE, Queensland, May 20 -- Queensland Police Service issued the following media release:
State Emergency Service (SES) honoured eight dedicated volunteers and two units at their annual SES Regional Award Ceremony in Townsville last Friday.
The awards recognise the outstanding contributions of members who go above or beyond the normal course of duties.
Sixty-nine-year-old Stephen Weise, from Gregory/Lawn Hills who has been an SES volunteer for more than two years, was awarded the prestigious Regional Member of the Year award for his overall distinguished service throughout 2024.
Also recognised were Dori Westwood, Ian Cameron, Ivan Bates, Madison Marshall and Rose Carney, who were presented with Regional Achievement Awards.
