CANBERRA, ACT, March 18 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:

A South Sudan-born man was sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment by the Perth District Court yesterday (17 March, 2025) after pleading guilty to 11 breaches of his visa-mandated conditions.

The Commonwealth sentence will start in July, 2025, following a term of imprisonment the man is already serving for unrelated state offences.

The Judge ordered the man serve one month in custody for the Commonwealth offences, then be released for the remainder of the term on a Recognisance Release Order to be of good behaviour.
