BRISBANE, Queensland, Feb. 7 -- Queensland Police Service issued the following media release:
Detectives from the Counter Terrorism Investigation Group (CTIG) have charged a 44-year-old Cashmere man following an investigation into the alleged public display of a flag featuring a prohibited symbol.
Initial investigations indicate a member of the public contacted police after noticing the flag at a Cashmere address.
Follow up investigations resulted in police executing a search warrant at the Cashmere address on Wednesday, February 5, where the flag was located and seized.
The man was not home at the time, however later presented himself to detectives at Queensland Police Service (QPS) Headquarters on February 6.
