Australia, May 27 -- New South Wales Land and Environment Court issued text of the following judgement on April 28:
1. This is an internal appeal under s 80(2) of the Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2013 NSW (the NCAT Act) from a decision of the Tribunal in the Consumer and Commercial Division on 6 November 2024 involving a claim for the bond at the end of a residential tenancy agreement.
2. There were, in fact, two applications before the Tribunal at first instance, one by a landlord claiming the bond and an amount of compensation exceeding the bond. The bond amount was $3,040. The other application by the tenant was also a claim for the bond amount as well as for compensation in addition to the bond amount.
