Australia, Feb. 26 -- New South Wales Land and Environment Court issued text of the following judgement on Jan. 28:
1. The applicant, GJA, seeks review of the decision of the Children's Guardian (the respondent) made on 21 March 2024 to refuse to grant him a Working with Children Check clearance (WWCC clearance). The decision was made pursuant to s 27 of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 (NSW) (WWC Act) on the grounds that the respondent was satisfied the applicant poses a risk to the safety of children.
2. As a consequence of the refusal, the applicant is barred from making an application for a WWCC clearance for a period of five years.
