BRISBANE, Queensland, Jan. 28 -- Queensland Police Service issued the following media release:

The community can expect to see a high visibility police presence on the roads this week to support a safe return to school.

Police are reminding motorists that reduced speed limits in school zones are back in play.

The return to school also marks the closure of Operation Mistletoe this week which is a road safety operation that focuses on reducing the lives lost on Queensland roads over the school holidays, including the back-to-school period.

Moreton District Officer Chief Superintendent Adam Guild said speed limits are put in place and strongly enforced for everyone's safety.
