Belconnen, ACT, May 15 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:

Police have caught 113 impaired drivers following a month of action targeting drink and drug driving in the ACT.

In April, ACT Policing conducted more than 20,500 random breath tests and roadside drug tests.

Impaired driving is one of the fatal five driving behaviours - the major causes of injury and death on our roads.

Among the people caught was a 33-year-old man who was observed running a red light shortly before midnight on 14 April. He was stopped and subjected to a breath analysis at Belconnen Police Station, which returned a result of 0.179.

When he was spoken to by police, the man reportedly said it wasn't a big deal because he didn't hit anyone.
