Belconnen, ACT, Feb. 27 -- ACT Policing issued the following media release:
ACT Policing's Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team (SACAT) have arrested a 74-year-old man following an investigation into his alleged abuse of a five year old girl.
Police will allege that the man abused the child at his south Canberra residence between 2023 and 2024.
On February 19 (2025), police received a report regarding the alleged abuse and commenced an investigation.
About 3.45pm yesterday (Wednesday, 26 February 2025), police conducted a search warrant at the man's residence, where they located suspected child exploitation material on his phone.
