BRISBANE, Queensland, Feb. 13 -- Queensland Police Service issued the following media release:
Detectives from the Major and Organised Crime Squad Far Northern along with officers from the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) arrested two people at separate shopping centres in Cairns on February 11.
It will be alleged at around 12pm, police intercepted a 34-year-old Manoora man at an Earlville shopping centre and seized a handgun, more than $43,000 and methylamphetamine.
It will be alleged the man was involved in trafficking methylamphetamine in the Cairns area between January and February of this year.
The man was charged with one count each of trafficking in dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons...
