It was smooth sailing for a select group of Year 11 and 12 students this week, after they tried their hand at boating with the Water Police, as part of an immersive work experience program with the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
Chosen for their interest in public service, 18 students were invited to participate in the three-day program offering a rare and sought after glimpse into QPS specialist services.
The program is designed to provide students with a hands-on introduction to policing, and to help them make informed choices about pursuing a future career with QPS.
