NEW DELHI, June 20 -- The Assam Public Works (APW) has filed a fresh affidavit in the Supreme Court in the National Register of Citizens (NRC) case seeking 100 per cent reverification of names in some select districts of Assam. The APW, which is the prime petitioner in the case, had earlier sought 10 per cent sample survey of names in the draft NRC.
The APW has prayed before the top court to pass an order for 100 per cent recheck of names included in the final draft NRC in the districts of Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Chirang, South Salmara, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Nalbari, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Darrang, Udalguri, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai, Golaghat, Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi by NSK personnel from neighbou...
