TURA, April 24 -- Tragedy struck a family from Rongsak in East Garo Hills district after a 12-year-old boy accidentally drowned in the Simsang river near Rongsak this afternoon.
According to the police, the minor had gone out with friends to take a dip in the river and drowned. The young boy has been identified as Akash Rajbangshi of Rongsak.
The police visited the victim's house and conducted an inquest and other legal formalities.
