DHUBRI, March 29 -- After filing of nomination paper by AIUDF supremo Badruddin Ajmal for the 4-Dhubri Lok Sabha seat here on Thursday, the BJP-AGP-BPF jointly declared former MLA of Mankachar Jabed Islam as their nominee today.
The two-time consecutive MP for the constituency with minority-dominated voters, Badruddin Ajmal was able to get 43% vote share in the 2014 general election as 5,92,569 electors voted in favour of him. It may be mentioned here that in the last general election there were 15,52,554 voters in the constituency out of whom 13,69,624 voters turned out at the polling booths.
