GUWAHATI, March 2 -- In an apparent strategy change ahead of the Assembly elections, the newly-formed political outfit Raijor Dal today said that all opposition parties, including the Congress, should field a common candidate in all constituencies to defeat the BJP.

It, however, refrained from making it clear if the party, which had earlier announced a poll truck with the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), would side with the Congress-led grand alliance.

Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi, who is currently lodged in jail, in an open letter vouched for fielding a common candidate against the ruling BJP in all the constituencies.
