Colombo, April 21 -- Offering his heartfelt condolences to the affected families of the 207 people who died in the serial bomb blasts that took place on Sunday, Western Province Governor Azath Salley, said that these were acts of barbarism and extremism which cannot be tolerated in any democratic country in the world.

" I am deeply saddened that these incidents have happened during the Easter Sunday prayers in those three churches."

He added, "It was very unfortunate that 27 foreigners too succumbed to fatal injuries they sustained in these blasts and heartfelt condolences of the Sri Lankan families abroad who too lost their dear and loved ones in the blasts."
