Colombo, March 31 -- A 64-year-old COVID-19 infected patient, has passed away while receiving treatment at the Negombo General Hospital yesterday evening, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to two in Sri Lanka, Director General of Health Dr Anil Jasinghe said.
He said the victim was a resident of the Kochchikade area. He had been transferred to the Negombo Hospital from a private hospital today.
The individual in question had initially been admitted to a private hospital in Negombo before being transferred to the District General Hospital Negombo yesterday (30) due to showing symptoms of Coronavirus.
Dr Jasinghe said it was today itself that the patient was tested positive for the virus.
