Washington, Jan. 26 -- Alice Wells, U.S. Department of States' (acting) Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, has been to Colombo several times during the previous Sirisena administration, and lately on January 14 to meet President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

This time, she was accompanied by an official in the Trump White house National Security Council - who is president's special assistant for South Asian Affairs - Lisa Curtis.
