Mumbai, April 23 -- Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament Zia-ur Rehman Barq expressed anguish over the Pahalgam terror attack and described it as deeply distressing and emphasised that Islam does not permit violence against innocents.

Speaking to ANI, Barq said, "Not only me, everyone in the country is distressed after what happened in Pahalgam. In this country, the communal angle given to every incident is wrong. Islam never teaches to kill unarmed or innocent people. Killing an innocent soul means killing the entire humanity. Such an incident should not happen anywhere."
