Washington, Sept. 13 -- The World Uyghur Congress (WUC) has released its weekly brief, highlighting attention to ongoing human rights abuses in East Turkistan, Beijing's campaign of intimidation against Uyghurs abroad, corporate complicity in forced labour, and the unresolved disappearance of Gulshan Abbas.
At the opening of the UN Human Rights Council's 60th session on September 8, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk warned that fundamental freedoms are facing "unprecedented threats" worldwide.
