Kolkata, June 22 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a jibe at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, referring to her as the "Civic Minister" of the state, keeping critical government positions vacant, particularly in hospitals and police departments, while allegedly prioritising funds for her "vote bank."
The BJP claimed that over 60,000 police posts remain unfilled, and fire stations are understaffed, all while the state diverts investments away from crucial sectors such as IT, Science, and Biotechnology. The party alleged that funds are instead being allocated for "Madrasa and Minority Affairs."
