Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 24 -- Recognising the immense potential of Vizhinjam International Seaport in global maritime trade, it was decided to fast-track the development process. As a result, capacity augmentation under Phase 2 is now expected to be completed within three years, said Divya S. Iyer, Managing Director of Vizhinjam International Seaport.

Work on Phase 2 of the Vizhinjam Port in Kerala has been kicked off today, with an additional investment of about Rs 16,000 crore.
