Mathura, Dec. 6 -- Security has been heightened across Mathura in Uttar Pradesh on the 33rd anniversary of the 1992 Babri Mosque demolition.

The Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Mosque in the city has been converted into a high-security zone.

According to a senior official, thorough security checks are being conducted at multiple points across the city, and the forces are on full alert to prevent any untoward incident.

Speaking to ANI, Mathura Superintendent of Police (Crime), Avnish Mishra said, "Anyone without a proper identity card and who isn't authorised to enter is constantly being checked.
