Uttar Pradesh, Dec. 20 -- The northern state of Uttar Pradesh witnessed dense fog on Saturday morning, with temperatures dipping as low as 9degC in various cities.

In Ayodhya, heavy fog enveloped the city, significantly reducing visibility. The Indian Meteorological Department reported 8degC as the minimum temperature recorded here, with the maximum likely to be 17degC.

Meanwhile, in Moradabad, people resorted to bonfires and thick layers of clothes outside to keep warm as the temperature dropped to 9degC, with the maximum likely to be 18degC, as per IMD.

Agra experienced similar cold conditions, with a minimum temperature of 9degC and a maximum likely to be 20degC.
