Mainpuri, Jan. 5 -- In a major breakthrough, the Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested the second accused in the January 1, 2026, snatching case after he was injured in a brief encounter with the police in Mainpuri.

According to the police, the accused sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police also recovered the motorcycle used in the crime and the stolen earrings. Officials said the accused has around 25 criminal cases registered against him.
