Bulandshahr, Sept. 12 -- The Uttar Pradesh police have registered an FIR against content creator Arpit Sharma for allegedly making inflammatory statements on social media platform X which threaten the "unity, integrity, and sovereignty" of India.

The content creator had allegedly claimed in a now-deleted post on X that protests similar to Nepal could happen in India too.

"Under the Bulandshahr police station limits, a person named Arpit Sharma posted inflammatory statements on 'X', taking reference to the protests in Nepal, which pose a threat to the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation," Bulandshahr Superintendent of Police (City) Shanker Prasad told ANI on Friday.

Sharma is currently living in England.
