New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, launched the retail sale of onions at Rs. 24 per kg by flagging off mobile vans of NCCF, NAFED and Kendriya Bhandar deployed for the sale in New Delhi on Thursday.
The event marked the commencement of the calibrated and targeted release of onions from the government buffer, making the essential vegetable available to consumers at affordable prices.
