Madurai, July 11 -- The ancient Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple, located near Madurai in Tamil Nadu, will host its Kumbabishekam (consecration ceremony) on July 14, a spiritually significant event in the Hindu religion.
The Kumbabishekam is a ritual performed once every 12 years or following major renovations, and involves the ceremonial sanctification of the temple's deities and structures. Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple is one of the six temples of Lord Murugan, known as the Arupadai Veedu.
