New Delhi, Sept. 19 -- The Supreme Court on Friday scheduled a hearing for September 26 on a plea filed by Vodafone Idea, seeking relief from additional Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) demands raised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for the financial period up to FY 2016-2017.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai and Justices K Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria observed the need for closure in the long-standing AGR dispute and said, "There has to be some finality to the proceedings."

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, requested an adjournment for next week, saying the government and the company were trying to find a resolution.
