New Delhi, Nov. 18 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to a former Assistant Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Himachal Pradesh scholarship alleged bribery case, setting aside the Punjab and Haryana High Court's earlier decision that had refused him relief.

The order was delivered by a bench of Justice M M Sundresh and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, which noted that the accused had already been chargesheeted, had spent substantial time in custody, and was expected to cooperate during trial.
