New Delhi, March 17 -- The drug Rifampicin, which is used in serious bacterial infections, particularly Tuberculosis, is expected to be commissioned this year.

According to the official sources to ANI, "Rifampicin is at an advanced stage of execution and is expected to be commissioned later this year."

Rifampicin is the key drug used for the first-line treatment of tuberculosis (TB). Treatment of TB is a key national health priority as it has been endemic in India, contagious and causes a large number of secondary opportunistic infections, thereby causing significant morbidity and mortality.
