Diu, Jan. 10 -- Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu's star Pencak Silat athlete Prasanna Bendre was looking forward to defending his Tanding gold on home turf in the Khelo India Beach Games 2026 when a late revision to the weight categories meant that he had to play in a much higher weight category this year or opt out.

With just 20 days left for the competition, Prasanna had to move from 40-45 kg to 50-55 kg weight category, meaning he had to gain some weight to compete against bigger and stronger opponents, according to a release.
