New Delhi, April 23 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Kanpur on April 24 has been cancelled in the wake of a recent terror attack that resulted in multiple casualties. According to an official statement, the Prime Minister was slated to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects valued at over Rs 20,000 crore during the visit.

However, given the prevailing atmosphere of grief and public sentiment following the tragic incident, the programme has been called off as a mark of respect.
